My first Dakini (vintage 1993) is a marvel. Looks like I bought it yesterday. Soft fleece never aged and edge stitching is still perfect - even though I estimate it’s been washed 496 times so far. Clearly not fast fashion. Only problem with it over the years was the continual power struggle it caused with my daughters - a freshly laundered Dakini is irresistible to all, it seemed. I finally gifted each of them their own Dakini a while back. But it was only this year, while brainstorming the best Christmas gift for my almost-90 Mom, that I realized I’d known a great gift for her all along. A new soft gray Dakini to complement Mom’s delicacy and keep her toasty, yet just as importantly, to restore her pride in staying as current and stylish as she’d always been. She will love wearing the same style she sees on her granddaughters. The cut is perfect, unfussy, unrestrictive, super comfortable. Win win win - three generations.
I bought 2 of these and even after 2 washings the fabric sheds microfibers like crazy. Bits and pieces everywhere. Purchase was a big mistake. I’m

The cropped roll-neck-fleece sweater is perfect for short and short-waisted women and is like wearing a warm blanket. Very cozy. The color (heather magenta) is beautiful. I had one of the first Dakini roll neck sweaters from the early 80s and am delighted to up-date my wardrobe with this piece. I also have the fleece-lined leggings, so I'm always warm and cozy head to toe.
I love my jacket, 3 tops and my 2 Navajo print blankets which the blankets are 30 yrs old. I have owned 8 tops throughout the 30 years I am buying another top and 1hoodie for each of my three grandkids. 30 yrs ago they were a much roomier fit. Now they have expanded there sizing, which is great. But if your a mature women, the bust area runs pretty small. I'm 5'3 and wear a size 4 and 6, typicaaly small tops. But Dakini womens tops run snug in the bust! I'm shocked at how my most resent top has matted under the arm-my original tops from 30 yrs ago never did that. And I miss miss miss my brown Dakini label that was always sewn on the bottom. I was proud to wear it! oh, miss the mitts and hats too!
Merry Christmas!
Happy Holidays
